E A Gifford - Placing a Flower
A historic NZ c1867 work of art with a wonderful scene of a girl pinning a flower to boy. Unsigned however authenticated and valued by Christchurch Independent Art Valuations 2016 with insurance value of $14,000 (copy available for purchaser), and historically loaned for exhibition to the Forrester Gallery in Oamaru 1994. Acquired direct from the family of artist.
The two children in the painting are Mary (born in Florence 1855) and Arthur (born in Fulham London December 1860).
